Gone surfing

Think I’ve contracted  bloggers-block this week. So I thought I’d share a few of the most amazing www-sites I’ve ever stumbled upon…

www.reverendfun.com

The site releases a brand new cartoon every day, and it’s all scripture based. Not only can you share the toons from the site itself, you can also read the passage it’s based upon.

Electronic Bible translations at your fingertips – for free!! Well, most of it. But even very popular ones like the King James (KJV) and the Contemporary English Version (CEV – my favourite!!!) can be downloaded for free. Make sure to download some of the commentaries as well. It does a lot to deepen your understanding of the context in which a passage was written. The downloaded application is amazingly user friendly. Everyone should have it!

www.bobsnook.org

1000 free Christian skits (anything from 1 to 10 minutes long). Perfect for adding punch to a sermon or getting kids involved in outreach. Skits are arranged in themes and even seasons (according to the Christian calendar) to make it easy to search for exactly what you need.

www.lyricsbox.com

An awesome collection of christian (and secular) music lyrics. Casting Crowns, Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, Third Day are some of my favourites. Much easier to copy and paste these to your church songboard than to try and listen-and-type each!

Make your own motivational posters. You know the ones – thick, black borders around a beautiful photograph with some truly inspiring words at the bottom. Now you can do it yourself. For free, of course…

www.1001freefonts.com/

And if you really want to make it funky, download free fonts from this site. Regularly updated!

If you’re always on the road like me, download free podcasts from the sites below and write it to CD. They are all amazing speakers and I have learned so much from them over the years… Pump the gospel to my brain, I say!

I’m so sorry I only discovered this one when the astronaut was on his way home. Mike Fossum, Commander of Expedition 29, shares his breathtaking pictures and he’s not ashamed to name the Creator. I can only imagine what it must be like…

http://www.plough.com/ebooks/

Free Christian books to download. As with all things with a ‘Christian’ prefix, please ask for a spirit of discernment and wisdom to judge the good from the looks-good.

http://www.zedge.net/ringtones/26-6-1/
Funky gospel ringtones to download for free! You have the option to download via your PC or directly to your phone. I’ve just downloaded MY SAVIOUR LIVES directly to my phone – dead easy! And an awesome song too…

(Hubby’s gone to bed already. Zoe and Lara (our Great Dane and Border Collie) is sound asleep next to me. If they could get credits for time spent in the study, they’d both be Dr’s by now.)

Please share some of your fantabulous finds too. I can’t wait!

This is A New Day. I will discover and share a piece of God with someone today..
